  1. To learn how federal policy changes will impact the health and human services landscape in Arizona.

Abstract

Federal policy changes are reshaping the landscape of health and human services—and occupational therapy is not exempt. This engaging session will explore how recent and emerging federal developments impact the programs, funding streams, and regulations that support occupational therapy practice in Arizona.

From Medicaid and behavioral health to long-term services and supports, attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how national decisions translate to local realities. We'll examine current legislative and regulatory shifts, spotlight the federal players influencing policy, and discuss the implications for OT professionals working across healthcare, education, and community settings.

As frontline practitioners, occupational therapists are uniquely positioned to advocate for systems that support client-centered, accessible care. This presentation will offer practical insights into the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead—and how OTs can play a role in shaping a more responsive, equitable system.

Whether you're new to policy or looking to deepen your engagement, this session will provide essential context to help you navigate and influence the future of health and human services in Arizona.
