- Attendees will be able to explain the purpose of Level I Fieldwork experiential education.
- Attendees will be able to state the value of hands on Level I experiences.
- Attendees will be able to state the value of various types of Level I experiences including traditional, role-emerging, groups, and populations).
Abstract
Level I Fieldwork has traditionally been viewed as an introductory observation to the field of occupational therapy. This course will review AOTA guidelines for Level I Fieldwork and provide evidence of the value of hands on experiential learning at this stage of education.
Biography
Tamara Turner is Associate Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for Midwestern University's College of Health Science Occupational Therapy Program. Dr. Turner believes fieldwork supervision is key to the future of our profession.
